CINEMA supports significant and innovative regional cultural
cinema programming in Ireland. Our members exist in many different
venues, and screen on a number of formats including 35mm,
16mm and DVD. These local film groups promote and screen films,
both Irish and international, that would otherwise not be
seen by regional audiences.
Experienced
and informed staff assist member groups by providing appropriate
advice to local programmers on film selection as well as technical
information on projection and presentation standards. We maintain
contacts with distributors, block book and ship films and
supply promotional material, all of which provides a framework
that allows local communities to present strong and ongoing
regional cultural cinema exhibition. Our success relies on
developing and maintaining partnerships with a variety of
local organisations including arts centres, so as to facilitate
and increase access to non-mainstream film exhibition.
These
partnerships are often unique to the individual area's requirements
and circumstances. We are continuing to seek new opportunities
to expand the provision of cultural cinema regionally. If
you would like to know more about how we can help you to develop
film exhibition in your area please contact
us.
